Understanding Leads

Lead stages, statuses, and what they mean for your submissions.

The Leads Table

Your leads table shows every lead attributed to your dsource (tracking code). Each row includes:

  • Name — The lead's first and last name
  • Email / Phone — Contact information
  • Tort Type — The legal claim category
  • Stage — Current status in the pipeline
  • Source — Which system captured the lead
  • Created — When the lead was submitted

Lead Stages Explained

New

The lead has been submitted but hasn't been processed yet. This is the starting state for all leads.

Contacted

Initial outreach has been made to the lead. The team is in the process of qualifying them.

Qualified

The lead meets the criteria for the tort type. This is a positive signal — the lead is moving forward.

Unqualified

The lead does not meet the requirements. Common reasons include wrong jurisdiction, doesn't meet medical criteria, or incomplete information.

Signed - Retainer

The lead has signed a retainer agreement with the law firm. Getting closer to a deal.

Signed - Deal

The deal has been finalized. This is the billable stage — your commission is calculated when a lead reaches this point.

Rejected

The lead was rejected after review. This can happen at any point in the process.

Filtering Your Leads

Use the filters at the top of the table to narrow down your view:

  • Search — Find leads by name or email
  • Stage — Filter by one or more stages
  • Tort — Filter by tort type
  • Date Range — See leads from a specific time period

Tips for Improving Quality

  • Leads that frequently end up "Unqualified" or "Rejected" may indicate targeting issues
  • Compare your conversion rate (Signed / Total) against your expectations
  • Ensure all required fields are populated when submitting leads
  • TrustedForm certificates help verify lead authenticity
